It is about what life means for me rather than how the world appears at first glance. I am driven to paint 'being there'; memory, feeling, imagination. Changing style or media can echo the substance of each of the elements bound together and I explore ideas with brush, knife and hands. Some works never find public viewing, some are re-worked, some appear with dramatic energy and others with a more peaceful flow. I study 'masters' new and old and revel in the marks made then made my own.
